Our 9th on-property sale was solid with a top price of $30,000 achieved for 2 bulls both to longstanding clients Currackabark Herefords, Gloucester and Beralga Herefords, St George. The sale was underpinned by strong commercial support to average $13,544 with an 84% clearance.

Lot 1, Talbalba Kenroy U130 (PP) a 24 mth old son of homebred sire Talbalba Techno S101 weighed in at 1012 kg with excellent carcase data. The Higgins family chose him for his length, skin type, body shape, foot profile and “unflappable” temperament.

St George feeder steer specialists Daryl and Antoinette Bjorksten chose Lot 18, Talbalba Southern Cross U053 (PP) for the consistency of the Southern Cross progeny in carcase traits.

Brother Ian Bjorksten, Wandong Herefords, Yeoval NSW also purchased a Southern Cross son Lot 16 Talbalba Southern Cross U110 for $26,000 with an outstanding data set.

Buyers came from Injune, Wandoan, Meandarra, Condamine, Dalby, St George, Blackall, Clermont and down to Dubbo and Burren Junction in NSW. Volume buyers included the Bowhays, Buckinbah stud, St George, taking home 6 bulls to average $19,000 and the Haig family at Cunnamulla purchasing 6 to average $10,000.

We would like to sincerely thank both purchasers and underbidders, our agents Grant Daniel Long and Nutrien, and family and friends for their help and support.
