Top price bull @ $102,000, Lot 21, 2023 Talbalba Kingswood T011 (PP) @17 mths

Our 2023 bull sale achieved a six figure sale record top price with Lot 21, Talbalba Kingswood T011 (PP) selling for $102,000 to Valma Poll Herefords and Nova Poll  Herefords in Tasmania. A solid average of $14,655 and an 89% clearance was terrific given the slide in the cattle market over the past 12mths with the EYCI 50% lower than this time last year.

Congratulations to Basil and Carolyn McLauchlan, Whitemore, Tasmania and Cam Clements, West Ridgley, Tasmania on purchasing the top priced bull on Auctions Plus. Many thanks to underbidders, Mawarra Genetics, Longford, Victoria also on Auctions Plus. Talbalba Kingswood T011, a homozygous polled son of Days Kingswood Q139 was described by Andrew as “a very complete package”. He weighed 709 kg at 18mths with a terrific data set scanning in the top 1% of the breed for EMA  and displaying excellent structure with a sires head and quality outlook.

Bulls sold into 3 states with Lot 3 also purchased for stud cattle duties by Kerry Glasser, Yagaburne Poll Herefords, Millmerran. Commercial bulls topped at $42,000 with Lot 6 going to Daryl and Antoinette Bjorksten at St George. Ian Bjorksten, Wandong Herefords bought Lot 5 for $36,000 and Lot 15 for $18,000. Bulk buyers also spending top money were the Greenhill family from Meandarra, the Bowhay family from St George, Juandah aggregation at Wandoan, the Hauff family from Blackall and Erbachers from Wandoan.

2nd top price Lot 6 Talbalba Techno S041 (PP) sold for $46,000 to long term client Darryl and Antoinette Bjorksten, Beralga, St George. Darryl also purchased Lot 21, Talbalba Kingswood T009 (PP) for $24,000.

3rd top price Lot 5 Talbalba Techno S093 (S) sold to repeat buyers Ian and Jennifer Bjorksten, Wandong Herefords, Dubbo. Ian also purchased Lot 15 Talbalba Horizon S046 (S) for $18,000

3rd top price bull Talbalba Techno S101 (PP) sold for $26,000 to Buckinbah stud, St George. The Bowhay family, long term supporters also purchsed Lot 4 for $14,000 and Lot 10 for $20,000.

 

Lot 3, Talbalba Techno S085 (PP)  @$24,000 sold to Kerry Glasser, Yagaburne Poll Herefords, Millmerran.

Juandah Aggregation, Wandoan, purchased Lot 45 Talbalba Techno S123 (PP) for $23,000 and Lot 7 Talbalba Techno S122 (S) for $16,000.

Greenhills family, Meandarra purchased Lot 23 @ $22,000 and Lot 33 @$20,000.
